A Constructed Life

A pictorial holiday whirlwind

Over the last many days, we have seen 80 percent of all of the people we love. I packed our holidays with playdates and parties and about halfway through, we all were feeling rather exhausted. But it was tons of fun. Here’s an overview:

Bake cookies!

Have a blizzard!

Enjoy the blizzard (after plowing 15″ of snow and getting our power restored)!

Santa! Presents! Christmas!

Get dressed up and eat! eat! eat!

Snuggle the newest family members, my niece and nephew, the twins. Crazy cute, huh?

Dinnertime playdate with some of my best friends and their kiddos. Adeline hit it off with my friend Nicole’s little guy.

A white elephant Christmas party for the grown ups. We found those stellar keg and eagle shirts at our local Walmart. They were a hit.

Another playdate to meet the newest baby welcomed into our group of friends. If you look closely you’ll notice that Adeline stole her brother’s sock and is trying to cram her foot into it. She has a thing for socks.

A New Years Eve day playdate for the kiddos…

…complete with crafts and cookie decorating.

Then our own family New Years celebration. Adeline decided she and Crosby should wear matching pajamas and eat corn dogs to celebrate the last hours of 2012. She totally didn’t get the concept of New Years. “What’s a year, Mommy? And what’s an eve?”

And a Happy New Year’s Eve it was.

Cozy up and rest.

The holidays were a whirlwind, and I treasure every moment I had with family and friends, who, as we all get busier or further far-flung, we don’t see as often as we’d like.

Here’s to the the start of an amazing 2013 for you, me and the rest of us. Hope you had happy holidays.
