Siblings

I absolutely delight in watching Adeline and Crosby’s relationship unfold. It is such a classic love/hate relationship. They are the best of friends and arch enemies, all at once.

We were at Costco over the weekend, and Addy really wanted to sit in the cart next to her brother. It was so cute. I asked her to put her arm around him so I could take a picture of the sibling love. While I laughed as the situation played out, this is what I imagine their internal dialogue was like.

Adeline: “Crosby, smile pretty at the camera for Mommy. She’s all crazy amped up about this moment, and it will shut her up.”
Crosby: “But I’m eating.”

Adeline: “Seriously, Little Buddy. Do it and then we can get back to eating the shit out of all the free snacks they have here.”
Crosby: “Are you kidding me? I got Cheerios! Don’t need nothin’ else. Back off.”

Adeline: “Mommy, I’m really trying here.”
Crosby: “Dear God stop touching me!”

Adeline: “Oh, Crosby. You have really let me down.”
Crosby: “AHHHGGHHH! Let a man eat his Cheerios in peace! God damn it! “
