An update

I have neglected this spot for weeks now. First, as I filled free hours wrapping up projects before I exited my job and now, as I attempt catching up on all the crap I put off doing (like cleaning, organizing, etc…) thinking, “I’ll tackle that when I stop working.” The ironic part? Now that I’m home full-time, I feel like I have no time. For me, this SAHM thing is some seriously demanding shit. I’m chalking it up to my kids’ ages. And because I’m potty training Adeline (for real this time). She is stubborn as hell and it is taking every ounce of endurance I have but I. will. be. victorious. That pee pee is going in the goddamn potty. She is close. So very, very close. I just can’t convince her to use any other toilet but the one in our house, and as soon as I put a Pull Up on her, she’s all “Hooray! Diapers! I’m going to piss myself silly!” And we have to start from square one again. But we will do this!

As for the Cros-a-meister – he’s almost 8 months old. I’m still nursing him, which is a commitment all its own, but it’s working for now so I’m going with it. My mild-mannered babe is starting to show some feistiness, and cries when he doesn’t get his way or if I leave the room or if gravity reminds him that he cannot stand. Despite his very best efforts and manic practicing, he’s not yet mastered crawling and seems tempted to skip it all together and go right to walking. The kid is already trying to pull himself up with the furniture.

So. Since many of you know that a lapse in blogging typically means there’s something wrong, I just wanted to let you know that we’re doing okay. Working out the kinks and gradually adjusting, but all doing just fine. I miss doing this. More to come. I have about a million posts planned in my head.
