A Constructed Life

Traveling a new direction…literally

Since we live about 45 minutes away from everything, Adeline spends a fair amount of time in the car. We decided to give her the treat of her little lifetime by turning her car seat around so she could face forwards rather than backwards. Previously, her view of the world from the car consisted of my trunk and a headrest and the tail end of things rushing by her. Now, she can take in the world as it comes at her and make eye contact with others in the car. Here’s her reaction to her first ride facing forward. For me, it brings to mind images of dogs gleefully hanging their heads out of car windows.

She loves it, and has since been a much happier travel companion. It is so nice to have her feel more a part of what’s going on in and around the car and to be able to turn around and see her. One more reason turning two is awesome.

These pictures are hilarious! She looks so genuinely happy…so cute. And soon Addy will have her little brother to keep her company in that back seat too!
