It’s An Honor…Now Vote for Me!
Okay, I’m up against some stiff competition, but I’ve been nominated for a Blogger’s Choice Award in the Best Hobby Blog category, and like a high schooler running for Student Class President, I’m asking for your votes. Consider it good practice for the presidential election. And if you feel like some of your friends might need some ‘voting’ practice, invite them to join in the voting fun! Feeling like you’re not informed enough to cast your vote? Let me help. Here’s where I stand on “The Issues”:
Drywall: Hire or DIY? For anything larger than a closet, HIRE!
Tiling: DIY! Rent, borrow or buy a wet saw to keep it easy…ish.
Demo: DIY! It’s filthy work, but no one can deny the satisfaction of plunging a hammer into a wall. Wear a face mask so you can protect your lungs and look like a doctor.
Family/Friends: Yes, you need their help. And that includes Weird Uncle Erve. Just tell him he needs to pick up every particle of dust by hand and he’ll stay out of your hair.
Beer: Yes, please! This tasty beverage becomes an important ‘tool’ when your remodeling partner starts hurling tape measures and levels across the room. Note: Do not enjoy in mass quantity until all important measurements have been taken and power tools are unplugged.
Music: Mandatory. Singing along with it will limit the number of profanities streaming from your mouth when you do things like get caulk all over the brand new tiles in your shower.
