Officially casting my vote
As soon as we announced we were pregnant, people started asking if we were going to find out the sex of the baby. Yes, we will find out, but we have to wait until our 20 week ultrasound, which will happen around mid June.
After we explain that to people, their next question is: Well, what’s your best guess?
At first, it was girl. Not for any real reason, just cause. And I could easily picture Joey living in house surrounded by females, though I’m sure he cringes at the thought.
But now, I’m thinking boy. And I have a very scientific reason why – one that I’m certain you all will agree is a definite indicator of baby gender.
When I was pregnant with Adeline, I craved spinach in the first trimester and fruit for the next two trimesters. Along with lots of ice cream. This pregnancy, I could give a crap about fruits and veggies. I can’t stop thinking about nachos, corn dogs and chicken tenders. Every unhealthy food you can think of? That’s what I want all the time. So it’s gotta be a boy this time, right?
But, in an attempt to not gain 100 lbs with this baby, I am fighting those cravings as best I can and giving into them in a “healthier” manner by making my own nachos and chicken tenders at home. The corn dogs will have to wait until State Fair and you can bet your bippy I will probably eat a half dozen of them while I’m there. It will be a spectacle, but that’s what the State Fair is all about.
Do you know what’s literally saving my ass right now? Joey and I are going to Mexico in a few weeks and I will have to wear a swimming suite. In front of all of our friends. Speaking of – is it in poor taste for a pregnant woman to wear a bikini? I’m already definitely showing, so the belly will be visible for sure. Bikini or Keep-That-Belly-Covered?

Don’t worry about wearing a bikini if you’re pregnant, folks’ll just think you’re fat and from Germany (uh,or Wisconsin).

Show of your pregnant belly while in Mexico! If you’re already showing there is NO way you can cover that up. You’ll be inundated with questions and baby tips once they see your belly. You’ll love it!
Um, a chance to wear a bikini and have a reason to have a muffin top? Bikini all the way!
I think you’re onto something, though. With my boy, I craved McDonalds apple pies and fried food (my husband even surprised me with a fry daddy). Then with my girl, I craved raw potatoes…veggies all the way. You might be able to start a new “guess your baby” service.
Let it all hang out! I think prego girls are so cute when their bellies show in a bikini! And you are not even showing that much.
