Back in the beginning of September, there was a two-week period when Addy was obsessed with hiding. I’m not quite sure what started it, I only remember that the first place she tried to “hide” was behind the leg of our dining room table. Now, I know she’s a little peanut of a 1-year-old, but she’s not so small that a 4″ thick table leg could hide her. But I suppose when you’ve only been alive for about 12 months, hiding is a totally knew concept that takes a bit to figure out.

Here’s the progression of Adeline’s understanding of hiding.

And just like that, once she successfully hid her entire body from us under her kiddie pool, the hiding stopped. Either she’s the type who pursues a new thing only until it’s mastered, or she just forgets stuff really easily.

So cute! Jack likes to hide everywhere and then says, “Where’s Jack?” Tonight he yelled from under his bed, “I’m hiding!” Addy and Jack could have a very strategic game of hide-and-seek.
