A Constructed Life

Hey! Hay!

I’ve mentioned before that I live out in the boonies, where cows and farm fields are readily accessible. My parents, who live about 3 miles away, live on an old farm. While they’re not the farmers growing the corn and soybeans on the property (they rent out the land), my dad is one of the three men driving around on a tractor.

I often complain about where we live-that’s it’s too far away from where I work, the city, great restaurants and shopping. But, truth is, half of my heart loves it out here.

I love that my daughter gets to experience things like this.

That she sees cows and chickens almost every week, that her height has been measured against jungles of corn fields and that she’ll learn the words “tractor” and “hay” in real-life terms.
