A Constructed Life

A cardboard-box robot turned ballerina

Halloween began with Addy experiencing her very first pumpkin carving with a pumpkin my parents grew on their farm for her. My dad used to spend hours carving our pumpkins when we were little, each year’s ghoulish display trumping the last’s. Our pumpkins were always his works of art.  Memories came flooding back as I watched him with his tools. He carved this pumpkin in about 20 minutes.

The celebration continued on Halloween morning, when I found a piece of cardboard (from some stools we bought for the kitchen) that looked just like a helmet, perfectly sized for Adeline’s head.

She would have none of it.

So then I dressed her up as a ballerina and she was super excited about that.

And then she busted out some really crazy ballerina moves.

Clearly, she’s inherited my dancing skills. Hope you all had a great Halloween!
