A Constructed Life

A McBlogging Surprise

When I first created this blog, years ago, I hoped to reach out to others and bond over the common ingredients of our lives, whether it be home remodeling, babies or another aspect of my life that reminded someone else of theirs.

Almost 4 years later, I think I’ve found that “thing” – the one little gem that rang true for so many other beings in the blogosphere. And that little gem is none other than McDonald’s. Yes, McDonald’s.

Not that time I had a nervous breakdown from years of struggling to reassemble my home, not the nine months I spent growing a human and not even when that human emerged from my body to grip my life in her tiny hands and contort it into something new and unrecognizable. No. What stuck a chord with you all is that time I got a Shamrock Shake that looked like it just returned from a weekend in Miami and then proceeded to confess my heartbreak over the loss of the culinary experience known as the Arch Deluxe.

Aside from my review of our Husky Wet Saw, it is my most popular post, getting 27 hits from around the country just yesterday.

Why is this?

Do you, too, miss the Arch Deluxe? Are my taste buds not alone in their longing for “the burger with a grown-up taste?” Or was it the drag-queen version of a Shamrock Shake that did it?

Or are you just all very hungry?

I have a feeling that this may remain one of the greatest mysteries of my life. Along with where I put all of our USB cords, because I still cannot find those bastards anywhere.

Kind of some sad societal commentary, no? 🙂

Oh, and I think I know where the USB cords are. They are probably hangin' out with the OEM battery I bought for my laptop more than a year ago that the mother took from its comfortable resting spot and put "somewhere" never to be seen again …
