A Constructed Life

Y’all ain’t gonna believe this

Remember that brand new Kohler bathtub that’s literally been sitting in my garage in a box for four years? The one that we conveniently buried underneath mounds of junk so we could ignore its existence? Well, it’s been on a little journey…

…to my hallway!

And it doesn’t stop there, Folks. The journey continues into this room…

…the shell of The Ugly Bathroom.

I took those photos on Sunday night and then went to bed, woke up and went to work and you know what? I returned home to a most glorious sight.

The bathtub is in the bathroom.

THE BATHTUB! IS IN THE BATHROOM!

And just like that, The Ugly Bathroom is well on its way to becoming The Super Nice Mega Fantastic Bathroom. With an actual bathtub. There hasn’t been a bathtub in this house (well, at least not one I was willing to use) for five years.

And it’s all thanks to Joey’s cousin, Harold, who’s spent years remodeling houses. His amazing family, including a wife and three kids, have rented him out to us for the week. Not only is Harold remodeling the bathroom, he’s sleeping over for a few days, which means our guest bedroom is finally being used. And Joey has someone to play video games with. All in all, it’s quite an exciting week for us.
Even Addy is getting involved.

Here she is helping Harold carry some PEX tubing up to the bathroom.

Look how excited she is about it. I knew remodeling was in her blood. By the way, if you look very very closely at that photo, you’ll notice that she’s getting her first tooth.

P.S. Thank you Angie, Jeremy, Sasha and Sophia for letting Harold stay with us. He misses you, but we’re taking very good care of him while he’s away.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I love progress. Seems I'll be living vicariously through yours and fellow housebloggers for a while.

And I just KNEW Addy would be a DIYer even before she could walk. She did NOT disappoint!
    🙂
Congrats on moving things forward. And God bless Harold!

I can't believe I'm not the only one that has (had in your case now!)
a brand new bath tub that hasn't been installed for years. Ours is sitting in the garage under a pile of stuff too. And not to far from it
is the new sink for the upstairs bathroom. hmmm, I see a trend here.
