A Constructed Life

In case her big blue eyes and chubby cheeks haven’t won you over yet, I’m hoping Adeline’s new threads are charming enough to earn her acceptance into the DIY Gang.
Our friend Rebecca, who, by the way, is getting married in 10 days, had this onesie made for Addy. Of course, she spit up all over it within 20 minutes of having it on, but happily, it washed right out. By the way, look how long my baby is getting!

Little Adeline…I hope you’re prepared to haul around hammers and learn the difference between a Philips screwdriver and a regular screwdriver. And get ready for thousands of stories about how mom and dad rebuilt a house with their bare hands just so you could have a nice place to live. Here’s a preview of what’s to come:

“Oh. You don’t want to clean your room? Did you know that I built the walls to your room myself? And those original hardwood floors covered in toys? I moved out of the house while they were refinished so as to protect your developing brain from toxic fumes. And that light switch? It’s nice isn’t it? We lived for months without electricity while we focused all our energy on constructing this bedroom for you.”

Adorable! Those feet are almost big enough for workboots.

The shot I can't wait to see: All of your feet together. (Since we never see Joey's face anyway.) 🙂

She is so sweet! Congratulations! I wanted to just offer another tip on decorating a baby's room – use removable vinyl wall decals. We get ours from http://www.wallslicks.com. They come in lots of different themes, designs and colors. The great thing about them is that you can put designs on a wall and then completely remove and change the look as your child outgrows each stage. What I really like about the decals from wallslicks.com is that they have a matte finish so that they blend into the painted wall and look like they were part of the original decor.
