Turn Monday into Funday

It’s Monday. I need something to perk me up, how ’bout you? Let’s see if this helps:

It’s “Say Hey,” by Michael Franti and Spearhead, featuring Cherine Anderson. It makes me want to shimmy around my office and since my officemate (which means, “person I share an office with,” not “office friend” said with a British accent), Cheri, is still out on maternity leave, I could totally get away with it.

But before I begin a stellar dance routine that is sure to rival my 5th grade dance interpretation of The Bangle’s “Manic Monday,” I have a confession to make. I lost the USB cord to our camera, so I can’t upload photos. This limits the things I can show you and talk to you about. So I’m taking the easy way out and posting a Youtube video instead of thinking up a creative topic to discuss.

It’s Monday, what do you expect? My brain waves are flatlining – Youtube videos are the best I can do.

Would it help if I posted TWO Youtube videos?

You may recognize the above song from Dancing with the Stars.

This is the dance I’m planning on doing in my office. If only I had those awesome pants to wear, it would be so much better! I’m pretty sure that if you got yourself a pair of those pants and wore them to the office today, your Monday would get WAY more interesting.

Well, I best be going. I need to stretch and warm up before I begin my dance routine. Cheri – you’re totally pissed that you’re missing my performance, aren’t you? I’ll teach it to you when you return.

It will be as cool as this wedding party doing “Thriller” at their reception:

You gotta be patient with this one. It takes about 40 seconds for them to get into their “We’re About to Perform Thriller at our Wedding” line up.

Hopefully the “I have no photos to share” situation will soon be remedied. In the meantime, let’s all do our best to make Monday suck a little less.

I love that Michael Franti song and have that YouTube video bookmarked! I play it and have dance parties with my 14 month old son. Good times 🙂

WOW!! I married a farmer and lets just say that our wedding was pretty boring compared to this baby! Who knew that weddings were about saluting Michael Jackson?! The only thing that would have made this video better would have been if the girls at the wedding wore the same pants that the chick in Dancing with the Stars wore…wohoo! What a thriller that would have been for everyone! Can’t wait to see the video of you and Cheri, with post partum bellies tucked into those flashy pants, performing your little dance number at the global conference!

Thanks, Christine! I bet your baby boy is a great dance partner!

Cheri – I hadn’t even thought about who would be the boy. We’ll have to discuss this on Monday when you return to work. You’re super excited, aren’t you?

Susie – Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂

Susan – I couldn’t agree more! I think those pants should be worn as often as possible. I’ll leave my post partum belly untucked and flapping in the wind for everyone to enjoy! 🙂 Thanks for the comment!
