Ass Kicking Blogs
I just devoured a cheeseburger bigger than my head from Kopps, a legendary Milwaukee, WI custard stand, and despite the overwhelming pressure my stomach is putting on my pants, I am going to fight the inevitable food coma that a pound of buttery beef, cheese and a chocolate malt induces, and write about blogs that kick ass.
My friend, The Milwaukee Cupcake Queen, who is an up and coming Milwaukee legend in her own right (If you have any interest in cupcakes or baking, you MUST visit her blog!), labeled me a Kick Ass Blogger. Thank you! As is the norm, I now must continue the ass kicking, and nominate other blogs that I think are butt-bruisingly clever. Having nominated 10 blogs for an E (This Blog is Rated E for Excellent) a few months ago, I’m going to try to add a few new blogs to this list.
Home is a Process – Luke and Laura (General Hospital, anyone?) have taken on a tremendous remodeling project and do a great job writing about it. Plus, they’re making an effort to keep their renovations green, which is quite admirable.
Dispatch from New Orleans – I spent a few days in NOLA last October and became enamored with the place. I found this blog a few weeks ago and love being able to peek in on the city and see how its doing post Katrina.
Time Thief – what a perfect way to describe our fixer-upper homes, as they do indeed suck away hours of the day. With posts like “Walls are Nice,” this blog is fun to read and easy to relate to.
3 acres & 3 thousand square feet – Robin and Flannel Man are newlyweds who have quite the project on their hands. And quite a few turtles in their yard.
Now, before I get to my final nomination, I feel like I need to insert a little disclaimer. I am absolutely serious about this nomination. I read this blog, which is a real blog, and I think it’s fantastic. End of disclaimer.
Gay Sports Blog – As in “Men like sports, and some of those men are gay, and this is a great place to read clever, witty posts about every sport under the sun no matter your sexual orientation.” My friend, Jimmy Flowers, writes for this blog. Now, I’m not a big sports fan, as Joey can attest to, but this blog makes me want to learn about sports because I have such a great time reading it.

OMG, I love the Gay Sports Blog too, but probably for different reasons. I am a gay man who loves sports and this site is just what I’ve been looking for. I don’t want to see half naked women, I want to see half naked men presented by men who can appreciate half naked men! Oh yeah, there are some lesbians who write on there too and will show the occasional female tush but I can ignore that! 🙂

I’ve never done one of these lists of favorites nor do I keep a link list on my blog because it would be 587 million lines long. But I just may have to consider doing one to share the love.
