A Constructed Life

I’m a walking advertisement for concealer

So these are the last pictures I’m going to post of my make-up-free face until I look normal again, because I simply cannot stand to post such awful photos of myself for everyone on the Internet to see.

Here I am, two weeks into taking medication to solve a condition I’ve dubbed Tomato Face, but is more accurately referred to as perioral dermatitis. The improvement is so subtle, I may be the only one who notices it. Here I am without any make up. Cringe.

.

Here I am 10 minutes later, my Tomato Face covered in Neutrogena Healthy Skin Concealer. While you can still see some redness, this stuff doesn’t irritate my uber sensitive skin and makes me feel okay about going out in public. It is my new best friend. Also, it is very difficult to take a flattering self-portrait with a cell phone.

.

As a comparison, this is what my face used to look like sans make up. I miss it. Hello, Old Friend. I shall never take you for granted again.
By the way, that beer bottle Crosby is sucking on is empty. I am a responsible parent and would never let my child touch a beer bottle without slamming the contents of it first.

Please keep your fingers crossed for my epidermis, it needs it! Hopefully I’ll have a “I’m Tomato Face Free” post sooner rather than later! In the meantime, let’s talk about other stuff!
