A last-minute attempt at style
I had a necklace emergency the other day. I threw on a plain black sweater, looked in the mirror, and all I could see was a black expanse of fabric that needed a pop of something to interrupt its blah blackness.
I turned to the heap of jewelry on my dresser. Nothing. I haven’t purchased a necklace in years (thank god for the friends and family who who do this for me), so my selection is tiny. I wanted color and length. I had length, but no color or color, but no length. Then I spotted these 2 items.
A plain silver chain and one of those funky magnetic jewelry ropes that you can wear as a necklace or wrap around your wrist as a bracelet that I got from my jewelry-connoisseur friend, Colleen. And I decided to MacGyver them into what I needed – a longish necklace with a pop of color.
Besides the fact that Adeline delighted in unraveling my magnetic necklace creation, it worked perfectly, and I actually got all kinds of compliments on it.
I have to say, for a girl who seldom even takes the time to think about accessories, I was quite proud of myself for coming up with this one…and even more proud that I actually pulled it off.

- When Wisconsin briefly became the French Quarter
Nice selection choices. By the way, the same effect occurs with the rooms in your home after a period of time. It seems to be asking for some fresh accessories.
I’m impressed. I’m calling you for all of my accessory questions now.
