More bitching than stitching
I recently shared my intentions of becoming crafty. Not in an evil, plotting sort of way, but in a “Oh, you’d like a whole new wardrobe? I’ll quick knit you one” sort of way.
Enter the book, Stitch N’ Bitch by Debbie Stoller. I waited for our family vacation to dive into it and spent the 3 hour car ride reading, slip knotting, and knitting with the English right-handed method, the needle in my right hand tucked up under my armpit, just like Debbie does it.
Since I began knitting, about 20 days ago, I’ve gotten this far.
But here’s the kicker. This is the 6th time I’ve gotten that far. I’ve started, messed up (kept adding an extra stitch to each row), unraveled my misshapen “scarf” and started over, and you bet I was bitching every step of the way.
I haven’t given up yet though. I can’t deprive the world of how good Joey will look in a hand-stitched wool body suit.

HAHA!!! I love the commentary. Hilarious. Plus in 4th grade I knitted a scarf that turned into a lop-sided pot holder….
"The earth is getting a potholder …" LOVE that! 🙂 In fourth grade, I did my one and only crochet project. I don't know whether I intended to make a scarf or a blanket or what, but it ended up being one single-line of crocheted string. We played with it a lot (jumped rope, tied each other up in cops n robbers and cowboys and indians, tug-o-war). Don't know what ever became of it.
Too funny!!
LOL
Yup, still chuckling. You're funny.
I have finished one scarf and my other looks just like the one you have started. When I got Abby she didn't want me to finish it. She kept trying to eat it. (She is a dog, not the baby) So. . . It's still sitting there waiting for me to come back and try it again.
And my first couple of tries turned into funny coasters. 🙂
