A very special Saturday
We had Addy baptized last weekend. A good friend, who is also a minister, came out to my parent’s farm and we had the baptism outside in the shade. It was lovely and more meaningful to us than we expected. We kept it small, just Addy’s great grandparents, grandparents, her godparents (my sister and brother in law) and us.
One of Addy’s grandmas, Jinny, Joey’s mom, had her wedding dress turned into a baptismal gown and bonnet. It was beautiful and I’m sure will become a family heirloom.
It made the occasion feel more like an event, along with the fireworks her other grandparents set off when the whole thing was finished.
It was one of those moments when I was overwhelmed with how lucky my daughter is, simply because she is so very loved.
