The First Floor Project
Here’s a glimpse at what’s happening on the first floor. This was a sitting room that connected to the dining room and the garage. We’re closing up the doorway that connects it to the dining room, then adding in a half bath. The room will end up being a mud room with a half bath in it.
You can see an image of the new plumbing we had to install for the new half bath and new master bath. The plumbing is the one and only thing we hired a professional for. See the black wire and white tubes up there with the plumbing? That’s the original electric work from 1913, know as knob and tube. We’re cutting it all out and putting in all new stuff. We have an electrician for that. He’s also known as my dad.
Both of our fathers and our friend Chris have been amazing. The three of them have put in a lot of time on this remodel and are paid with beer and food only. Needless to say, we owe them big time.
