25 Weeks
I know, it probably seems like I’m obsessing over how quickly my belly has grown with this pregnancy, but it has! Also not helping? Strangers already making comments like, “It must be baby time soon!” or “Oh, you must be getting close!” You should see the looks on their faces when I tell them I have 3 more months to grow go. But really, you guys. Look at the comparison below, and you’ll get why I’m shocked by my own mega belly.

Here I am, 25 weeks pregnant with Baby 2.
My belly button is already popping out!

Here I am, 24 weeks pregnant with Adeline.
Is that not a crazy difference? Had the ultrasound technician not done an incredibly thorough search of my womb to ensure there was only 1 baby in there, I would swear that either I’m pregnant with twins or my due date is wrong.

My friends who have 2 children assure me this is completely normal, that a woman’s body snaps back to that super pregnant look almost immediately the second time around. Besides, the ultrasound technician also measured every inch our of our baby boy to make sure his growth was on track with our due date, and he’s only measuring a few days ahead of schedule, which basically means nothing. My due date remains Oct. 28th. And I remain in awe of Giganta-Belly 2011.
Amazing how much different the second time around is. Either way, you look adorable!
It’s like our skin is saying, “Hey, I remember this. Let me help ya out here.” Damn skin.
I do love the way you have framed this situation and it does supply me some fodder for thought. Nonetheless, from everything that I have observed, I just wish when the actual feed-back stack on that individuals stay on point and in no way start upon a tirade involving the news of the day. All the same, thank you for this superb piece and whilst I do not agree with the idea in totality, I value the point of view.
