I Just Married Some People: Stories of Mexico, Part 2

As I mentioned in my last post, there was so much more to my trip to Mexico than just performing matrimonial duties. Here’s a photo summary of our vacation:

.

A trip to Tulum, a Mayan city that was thriving in the 13th century.

.

I couldn’t help but have flashbacks to the TV series Lost as we walked through.

.

.

Time with our good friends who traveled with us for the wedding.

.

.

Pool time! While my fellow travelers enjoyed fruity cocktails and cervezas, I joined the 10-year-olds in ordering from the kiddie juice menu. I think I was drunk on sugar half the time we were there.

.

.

Beach time! I am not a fan of oceans (they’re salty, have large splashy waves and loads of creatures bigger than me), but I loved this one. The warm, calm waters lulled me into such a state of tranquility, I only freaked out a little a bit when a tiny fish swam by me.

.

.

A musical show performed by the resort staff. This is a photo of them in glow-in-the-dark skeleton costumes dancing along to the Jerry Lee Lewis hit, “Great Balls of Fire,” which was being sung by a man dressed as Beetle Juice. I know, it doesn’t make any sense, which is why I had to document it.

See? Beetle Juice. I knew you’d appreciate the complete randomness of it.

.

.

This trip made me hope that there will always be time in our lives, despite having 2 kids, to travel with our friends. We’re all so busy and far flung these days, so spending several days with them was really special.

However, now that the trip is finished, I’m also relieved in a way, because now I can just focus on summer plans with my own growing family and getting us all ready to welcome the newest member.

I’m glad you had fun in Mexico, but I did not read one mention of searching for lizards and snakes (so it couldn’t have been that much fun).

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
